SECP registers 5,241 new companies in Sept 2026
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 5241 new companies during September 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The total number of registered companies in Pakistan reached 3,17,2000 out of which 99.0 percent of companies were registered online.
The new registrations with the SECP include 3,013 private limited companies, 2,058 single-member companies, 127 LLPs, 29 not-for-profit organizations, 10 public companies, 2 trade organizations, and 2 foreign companies.
In terms of new registrations, Punjab led with 2,740 new companies, while 1,009 companies were registered in Islamabad, 790 in Sindh, 428 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 169 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 105 in Balochistan.
The IT sector topped the list with 920 companies, while 808 companies were established in trading, 599 in services, 339 in construction, 239 in food, 222 in tourism, and 193 in real estate.
According to the SECP, 189 new companies were registered in the education sector, 179 in e-commerce, 127 in mining, and a total of 1,426 across all other sectors. In September, 167 foreign investors participated, with China leading the list with 113 investors.
Women accounted for 14% of shareholders and directors, 11% of ultimate beneficial owners, and 8% of chief executive positions.
SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu said that women account for 11% of ultimate beneficial owners. Women hold 8% of Chief Executive positions in companies.
Company registration is a significant step towards formalizing the economy. He said that we are further simplifying the company registration process to foster economic growth.
