Asante Kotoko SC will be missing the services of their top assist provider of the 2025/26 season when they host bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC on Sunday.

Winger Peter Amidu Acquah is ruled out completely from Ghana Premier league week 22 fixture on Sunday when the Reds face Phobias in the Super Clash. The Ghanaian attacker due to injury will be absent for the game.

He’s missed Asante Kotoko SC last two matches and is still in the treatment room, battling to return to full fitness for the rest of the season.

Amidu currently, is the leading assist provider in the ongoing Ghana Premier League with 7 assist after match week 21.

His side will be aiming at pushing away the resignation of their head coach Abdul Karim Zito and redeem their image for the betterment of challenging for the league title.

Asante Kotoko have won three of their last five home league matches, drawing the other two and have conceded in just one of those games. A statistics that, could inspire them to recording a double over Hearts of Oak SC this season after beating them 1-0 in the first round played in Accra.

The Porcupine Warriors hold the edge in the Ghana Premier League rivalry, recording 41 wins against Hearts of Oak’s 38 since 1958.

Sunday’s clash marks their 120th league meeting.
