Wagon driver fined Rs285,000 for 54 traffic violations

LAHORE  –  Lahore Traffic Police fined a wagon driver Rs285,000 and impounded the vehicle after checking its e-challan record and finding 54 previous traffic violations, as part of its ongoing crackdown against traffic rule violators. According to the Traffic Police, the action was taken in Manga Mandi when a sector in-charge stopped the wagon for violating traffic rules. A check through the One App revealed that the vehicle had been issued e-challans for 54 traffic violations. The vehicle was subsequently fined Rs285,000 and impounded at the police station, the traffic police said. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said a strict enforcement policy was being implemented against repeated traffic violations and e-challan defaulters to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city.
