Online Erupts in Laughter as Details Emerge on Why Most Ladies Will Vote for Sifuna in 2027

A fresh political remark about Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has attracted attention as his new political party continues to gain attention ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Stephen Obiero claimed that women could support Sifuna because of his appearance, making a light-hearted comment about the senator’s growing political profile.

Obiero’s remarks come shortly after Sifuna was unveiled as the leader and presidential candidate of The Equitable Party (TEP) during a ceremony in Nairobi on October 4.

The launch marked a new stage in Sifuna’s political journey after his break with the Orange Democratic Movement, where he previously served as secretary-general.

Sifuna is now using TEP as his political vehicle as he seeks to build a national campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The party was already registered before Sifuna took over its leadership and was restructured to accommodate him and his supporters.

The launch attracted several leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi Movement. Among those present were Siaya Governor James Orengo, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka.

Since taking over TEP, Sifuna has started outlining his political agenda. He has spoken about reducing government waste, creating more opportunities for young people, strengthening accountability and cutting some taxes.

He has also promised to scrap the Housing Levy and VAT on petroleum products if elected, while proposing changes in government spending. These are political pledges and remain part of his campaign platform ahead of the election.

The senator has also called for greater participation by women and young people in national leadership.

Obiero’s comment therefore comes at a time when Sifuna is receiving increased attention as he builds his new political vehicle.

With the 2027 election still ahead, Sifuna will now have to expand his party structures and convince voters across different parts of the country.

For now, remarks about his personality and appearance add a lighter side to an increasingly active political campaign.
