Iranian Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami has warned that Iran’s armed forces would deliver a “crushing response” if the country faces another military threat.

Hatami made the remarks during a visit to Army units in Fars province, where he reviewed the forces’ readiness, equipment and defensive capabilities, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

He said the armed forces must remain vigilant, adding that what he described as the US-Israeli war against Iran had not ended.

Hatami said any further “mistake” or military action by Iran’s adversaries would prompt a forceful response from the country’s armed forces.

He also referred to the recent conflict and said wars inevitably cause damage, but argued that the outcome was more important in determining its impact on the country.

The Army chief also called for continued readiness and coordination among Iran’s armed forces.

Hatami said Iran’s military should use the experience of the recent conflict to strengthen preparedness and keep the threat of another war away from the country.
