Sotayo Gaga, Idris Aregbe make entrance in golf cart at Lagos Gele Festival

Actress Sotayo Gaga and Lagos State special adviser on tourism, arts and culture, Idris Aregbe, attracted attention at the Lagos Gele Festival on Sunday after making an entrance in a golf cart.

The duo arrived at the event in the golf cart, adding a royal touch to the celebration of Yoruba culture and traditional fashion.

Other personalities at the festival included singer Darey Alade, comedian Folagade Banks and actress Bukky Wright, among others.

Sotayo, whose real name is Tayo Sobola, is an actress and filmmaker known for her work in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The Lagos Gele Festival, organised by the Lagos State Government, celebrates the traditional Yoruba headtie and recognises the people involved in preserving the craft.

The event featured activities highlighting the cultural significance of gele, traditional fashion and the work of headtie artists.

It also offered a N2 million prize for the participant with the best gele, alongside training opportunities for young gele artists to develop their skills and improve their access to opportunities in the creative industry.
