Mr Minister of Power, There’s Hardly Been Light, You People Will Bring It And Then It’s Gone–Henshaw

According to a report by Daily Post on Sunday, November 8, 2026, Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticised the Minister of Power over Nigeria’s persistent electricity challenges, expressing dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the country’s unreliable power supply.

The actress questioned the minister’s explanation for the frequent electricity interruptions, arguing that Nigerians continue to experience prolonged power outages despite assurances from the government.

Henshaw expressed her frustration in a video shared on her Instagram page, where she challenged the minister to identify those who allegedly complained that the availability of continuous electricity was affecting items stored in their freezers.

She questioned why the government would rely on such complaints to justify the country’s poor electricity situation, insisting that Nigerians needed a stable power supply.

Addressing the Minister of Power, the actress described the situation as frustrating, noting that electricity was rarely available and that whenever power was restored, it usually lasted only a few minutes before going off again.

She said: “Mr Minister of Power, there’s no light. There’s hardly been light. You people will bring it, and then give minutes; it’s gone.

“You were credited with a statement that in September, some people were telling you that you should turn off the power because the things in their freezer were freezing. What is a freezer for?

Her remarks highlighted the frustration of electricity consumers who have continued to grapple with unreliable power supply across the country.

Henshaw’s criticism also drew attention to the minister’s reported claim about complaints from some electricity consumers, questioning the reasoning behind such an explanation at a time when many Nigerians are demanding consistent electricity.

The actress maintained that the country’s power supply situation remained a major concern, particularly for households and businesses that depend on electricity for their daily activities.
