Shatta Wale’s Hogbetsotso Beach Concert Officially Cancelled

According to a report by TV3 Ghana on November 8, 2026, the HRM Togbi Sri III Official Concert, popularly known as the Hogbetsotso Beach Concert, featuring Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale, has officially been cancelled.

The event was originally scheduled to take place as part of the entertainment activities associated with the Hogbetsotso celebrations. However, an official announcement confirmed that the programme would no longer take place as planned.

Shatta Wale was expected to headline the concert, which had attracted attention from music lovers and entertainment enthusiasts anticipating his performance. The cancellation therefore represents a major change to the entertainment programme accompanying the traditional celebrations.

The announcement has affected individuals who had made plans to attend the event, particularly fans who were looking forward to watching the award-winning musician perform live. It means that the anticipated musical gathering will no longer form part of the celebrations as originally expected.

The Hogbetsotso celebrations provide an opportunity for cultural activities, community gatherings and entertainment programmes that bring people together. Musical concerts have also become an important part of the broader activities associated with such traditional celebrations.

The development has consequently drawn attention to the organisation of major entertainment events held alongside traditional festivals, particularly the need for effective communication when scheduled programmes are cancelled.

Meanwhile, the announcement did not provide a specific reason for the cancellation. Organisers are yet to communicate further details explaining the circumstances behind the decision or whether alternative arrangements will be made.

For now, the HRM Togbi Sri III Official Concert featuring Shatta Wale remains cancelled, bringing an unexpected end to preparations and expectations surrounding the Hogbetsotso Beach Concert.
