Rivers: NDC Spokesman Reacts To Empty Seats At The Stadium Where Mega Rally Was Conducted For Tinubu

According to a statement shared by Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) spokesperson Theo Abu Agada on his official X account on Saturday, November 7, 2026, he has criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the turnout at its campaign rally in Rivers State.

The reaction followed a political rally organised by the APC in Port Harcourt, which was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Remi Tinubu and several other prominent members of the ruling party.

Following the event, Abu Agada took to his official X account to comment on the gathering, describing the rally as underwhelming. He questioned the party’s ability to attract a large crowd, pointing to the empty seats visible at the stadium.

The NDC spokesperson also used the development to make a broader political statement about the level of support the APC enjoys in Rivers State. According to him, the turnout suggested that residents of the state had rejected the ruling party.

In his post, Abu Agada expressed his assessment of the rally in strong terms, directly criticising the APC’s performance at the event.

According to Theo Abu Agada on his official X account:

“What an underwhelming campaign rally in Rivers state by the ruderless APC”.

His comments have drawn attention to the political significance of the rally’s turnout, particularly because of the presence of President Tinubu and other senior APC figures.

However, Abu Agada’s claim that Rivers residents have rejected the APC represents his political interpretation of the event. The turnout at a single rally does not, on its own, establish the voting preferences of the state’s entire population.

The reaction adds to the political exchanges surrounding the activities of Nigeria’s major parties as preparations and mobilisation efforts continue ahead of the 2027 general elections.
