Laughter in Nyamira as Preacher Delivers Direct Message to President Ruto

A preacher in Nyamira County has attracted attention after delivering a bold message to President William Ruto during his visit to the region, urging him to remain confident and not be intimidated by Kenyans who criticise his leadership.

The preacher made the remarks while addressing the congregation in the presence of the Head of State, telling him to continue with his activities without worrying too much about those who regularly attack him verbally.

In a statement that sparked interest among those present, the preacher told Ruto: “Ruto, give me money and do not fear those who insult you.”

His message appeared to combine a direct request for financial assistance with encouragement for the president to remain firm despite growing criticism from sections of the public.

The preacher’s remarks came at a time when Ruto continues to face intense political pressure over several national issues, including the cost of living, taxation, unemployment and the performance of his administration.

The president has repeatedly encountered criticism from political opponents and sections of the public, with some Kenyans questioning whether his government has delivered on the promises made during the 2022 election campaigns.

However, the preacher appeared determined to encourage Ruto not to allow negative comments to discourage him, suggesting that criticism should not prevent him from carrying out his responsibilities.

The unusual appeal also added a lighter moment to the president’s engagement in Nyamira, attracting attention because of the preacher’s straightforward choice of words.

Ruto was visiting St John Rangenyo School in Nyamira County, where he was welcomed by local leaders, including Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo.

The incident has since drawn interest because of the preacher’s unexpected remarks, which combined a request for money with a message encouraging the president to remain unfazed by his critics.
