Ken Agyapong Loses Another Close Political Ally as William Kusi’s Death Is Reported

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been hit by sad news following reports of the death of William Kusi, a well-known supporter of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong who played an active role in the politician’s campaign activities.

Kusi, who served as the head of communications for Ken Agyapong’s campaign team, was reported dead on Saturday, November 7, 2026. His reported passing has brought attention to a man who was known not only for his involvement in party politics but also for his work as a lawyer.

Although the news has been reported by GhanaWeb and other media outlets, details surrounding his death remain limited. His cause of death has not been publicly established, and no confirmed information about his funeral arrangements was available at the time of reporting.

Kusi was one of the people who helped communicate Ken Agyapong’s political message to supporters, particularly in the Ashanti Region. His involvement in the campaign made him a familiar voice among those following the former Assin Central Member of Parliament’s political activities.

His political work was not limited to the recent campaign. In October 2023, Kusi was identified as the Ashanti Regional Spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign during the NPP presidential primary contest. At the time, he publicly defended his candidate during disagreements involving the campaign team and Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

He also spoke about the need for unity within the NPP, particularly after Alan Kyerematen left the party. Kusi said Kennedy Agyapong would make efforts to bring Alan back if he won the party’s presidential primary.

Beyond politics, Kusi was a practising lawyer based in Kumasi and a partner at Dominion Chambers. He also gained wider public attention through his legal representation of Akosua Serwaa, the widow of highlife musician Daddy Lumba, in legal matters that followed the musician’s death.

A report by YEN.com.gh said news of his passing was shared by a Ghanaian blogger, KDI MEDIA, in an emotional video tribute. The presenter described him as a hardworking legal practitioner and a gentleman who was committed to helping others.
