Filling Stations Slash Petrol Prices, Announce New Rates After NNPCL’s Latest Cut

According to a report by DAILY POST on Sunday 8 November 2026; Some filling stations in Abuja and its surrounding areas have reduced their petrol pump prices following the recent downward review announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

A market survey conducted on Sunday showed that AA Rano, Sharon, Shema and other filling stations had adjusted their prices from N1,420 to N1,410 per litre.

The latest adjustment represents a reduction of just N10 per litre, indicating that the independent fuel retailers have yet to fully reflect the significant price cut introduced by NNPCL.

The new rates have already been implemented at some AA Rano, Sharon and Shema outlets across Abuja and neighbouring communities.

Recall that NNPCL reduced its petrol price last week by between N45 and N80 per litre, bringing its pump price down to N1,325 per litre; The reduction made its filling stations the cheapest petrol outlets in Abuja and its environs at the time.

However, other marketers have maintained relatively higher prices despite the development.

Further checks showed that MRS, Ranoil, Empire, Mobil and AP Ardova filling stations were selling petrol at prices ranging between N1,395 and N1,420 per litre in Abuja.

MRS filling stations had also yet to announce a downward adjustment in their pump prices, despite the latest price reduction by Dangote Refinery.

The development highlights the differences in petrol pricing among marketers, as consumers continue to monitor possible further reductions across filling stations.

Meanwhile, Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the two major international crude oil benchmarks, were trading below $100 per barrel on Sunday evening.
