Today’s Headlines:Atiku Will Sell Nigeria If Elected President-Wike;EFCC Reveals Adeboye’s Refund
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would sell Nigeria if elected President, alleging that he sold the country’s national assets while supervising the privatisation programme under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Wike, who described Atiku as a political gambler, challenged Nigerians to demand accountability over the fate of government-owned companies privatised during his eight-year tenure as Vice President before considering giving him the nation’s highest political office.
The FCT Minister spoke on Friday during a Rainbow Coalition town hall meeting with stakeholders in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, where he also canvassed support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and defended its economic reforms.
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has revealed how the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, ordered the refund of billions of naira donated to a church project after investigations linked the money to financial crime.
Olukoyede said Adeboye directed that the money be returned within 24 hours of being informed that the donation was traced to proceeds of crime.
The EFCC chairman made the disclosure in the early hours of Saturday, November 7, while addressing RCCG workers at a meeting organised ahead of the church’s annual Holy Ghost Congress.
According to Church Times Nigeria, which reported the development on Saturday, Adeboye invited the anti-graft agency’s chairman to speak to church workers on financial accountability, transparency and the importance of maintaining proper financial records.

Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after captain Martin Ødegaard scored a late winner to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Norwegian midfielder struck in the 72nd minute, reacting quickest after Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis failed to hold Noni Madueke’s effort, to break the visitors’ resistance.
The victory extended Arsenal’s winning run in the league to five matches and preserved their 100 per cent home record, a post match report on the Arsenal website noted this.
Hull, however, made the hosts work for the three points, threatening early and frustrating Arsenal for much of the encounter.
