Some Lawyers Said Atiku Was Not Mentioned In The Judgment,But I Know Where They’re Laying Traps-Nnah

Public affairs analyst Simeon Nnah has questioned legal arguments that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was not directly affected by the court judgment nullifying the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Nnah made this observation while discussing the judgment during an interview on News Central TV on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

The analyst said although some lawyers had argued that Atiku was not mentioned in the judgment, he believed their position overlooked the legal implications of the court’s decision, particularly its declaration that actions taken by the Mark-led leadership were null and void.

According to him, the argument that Atiku was not specifically named in the ruling did not necessarily mean that the decision had no consequences for his presidential ambition under the ADC.

He said, “In fact, some lawyers said Atiku was not mentioned in the judgment, but I know where they are laying their traps on because in law, I’m not a lawyer but you cannot build something on nothing. That’s a maxim in law.”

Nnah’s comments come amid the controversy surrounding the Federal High Court judgment that invalidated the ADC caretaker committee led by former Senate President David Mark.

The ruling followed a suit filed by Nafiu Bala Gombe, a former deputy national chairman of the party, who challenged the legitimacy of the Mark-led leadership.
