PSL Exodus: Two SA Stars Officially Leave South Africa for FC Ongos

Ex-PSL Duo Make Namibian Move as FC Ongos Unveil South African Stars Ahead of New Season

Two former South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaigners have officially been unveiled by Namibian outfit FC Ongos as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The Windhoek-based side has made a significant statement in the transfer market after confirming the arrival of experienced South African duo Sithembiso Ngobe and Rewaldo Prins among a group of 13 new players unveiled on Thursday, November 6.

Ngobe, who previously featured for South African clubs TS Galaxy, Chippa United and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, brings valuable experience from the South African top-flight football environment.

The defensive midfielder is expected to add stability, physical presence and experience to FC Ongos’ midfield as the Namibian outfit prepares for another competitive campaign.

Meanwhile, winger Rewaldo Prins also joins the club with experience in South African football, having previously been associated with Marumo Gallants before continuing his career with Libyan side Al-Afreeqi.

His arrival is expected to provide additional attacking options, with his experience potentially proving valuable as FC Ongos look to improve their performances in the upcoming campaign.

The two South African arrivals are part of an ambitious recruitment drive by FC Ongos, which has brought in several players to reinforce different departments of the squad.

Other notable additions include Dynamo Fredericks, who arrives from Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy, as well as goalkeeper Vaitavera Tjatindi, who previously represented Young African and African Stars.

The club has also strengthened its technical department with the appointment of former Lesotho national team coach Leslie Notลกi, who will lead the senior men’s team into the new season.

Notลกi’s appointment reflects FC Ongos’ ambition to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours in Namibian football.

With the new signings now unveiled, attention will turn to how quickly the arrivals adapt to their new environment and establish themselves within the team.

For Ngobe and Prins, the move to Namibia represents another opportunity to revive and advance their respective careers while bringing their South African football experience to a new challenge.

FC Ongos will be hoping that their latest recruitment exercise delivers the desired results as they target a stronger showing in the 2026/27 campaign.
