Peter Obi: I Love His Style, Even The Way He Talks; He Talks Like My Father – Primate Elijah Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has declared his admiration for the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying he loves his personality, communication style and approach to politics.

Ayodele made this known in a recent video posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, November 7, 2026, where he addressed perceptions that he was not supportive of the former Anambra State governor.

The cleric explained that although some people might believe he does not like Obi, such assumptions were wrong, insisting that he has affection for the politician and regularly prays for him.

According to Ayodele, his admiration for Obi goes beyond politics, as he appreciates the way the former governor communicates and conducts himself.

He also compared Obi’s manner of speaking to that of his father, describing the similarity as one of the reasons he has developed a special affection for the politician.

Ayodele said, “Some people think that I don’t like Obi. I pray for Obi, because I love Obi. I love his style. Even the way he talks, he talks like my father. That is the reason I love Obi.”

The cleric’s remarks come amid ongoing political discussions surrounding Obi’s political future and his possible participation in the 2027 presidential election.

Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, emerged as a major political force following the strong support he received from young Nigerians and other voters who rallied behind his campaign.

His political movement, popularly known as the Obidient Movement, attracted considerable attention during the election and has remained an important factor in conversations about the country’s opposition politics.

Ayodele has frequently commented on the political ambitions of Nigerian leaders and opposition figures, offering warnings, advice and predictions about their chances in future elections.

His latest comments provide a personal explanation for his position on Obi, particularly against the background of interpretations that some of his previous political statements might have suggested a lack of support for the former governor.

By openly expressing his admiration, the cleric made it clear that his views about Obi should not be interpreted as personal dislike.

He also stressed that his prayers for the politician were motivated by genuine affection rather than political considerations.

Ayodele’s statement highlights the distinction between his personal feelings towards Obi and his assessments of the politician’s political activities, as he continues to speak about developments ahead of the 2027 general election.
