Oshiomhole: “If Atiku Wins This Election, I Don’t Have a House in Dubai or London to Run To”
Former Edo State Governor and Senator Adams Oshiomhole has insisted that he would remain in Nigeria even if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar wins the 2027 presidential election.
Oshiomhole made the declaration during an interview with Channels Television on November 6, 2026, while discussing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
In the interview, a video of which was released on Friday, November 6, the senator said he had nowhere abroad to escape to if the political outcome did not favour his preferred candidate.
“If Atiku wins this election, I don’t have a house in Dubai or London to run to,” Oshiomhole stated.
He challenged anyone doubting his position to investigate whether he owns property in Dubai, London or any other foreign country.
The former governor also maintained that neither imprisonment nor death would make him abandon Nigeria or surrender his right to express his political opinions.
While acknowledging Atiku’s experience as a former vice president, Oshiomhole argued that Nigerians should judge the presidential contenders based on their records rather than political popularity.
He further maintained that Atiku’s previous unsuccessful presidential bids should be considered when assessing his chances in the forthcoming election.
