Nollywood actress Lola Thompson has opened up about the severe domestic turmoil she endured during her previous marriage, leveling serious allegations of physical assault, emotional control, and infidelity against her former husband.

Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, on Friday November 6, 2026, the actress detailed the abusive conditions of her union, revealing that the relationship was defined by systemic physical violence and isolation.

According to Thompson, her ex-husband strictly restricted her social life by forbidding her from keeping friends, while he routinely engaged in extramarital affairs with multiple women throughout the duration of their marriage.

The film star disclosed that simple professional obligations often triggered violent reactions. She recounted an incident where her former partner physically assaulted her simply for returning home late after completing a movie shoot.

Elaborating on the scope of the violence, Thompson explained that the physical maltreatment was both varied and relentless.

Recalling the traumatic experiences, Thompson stated:

“There was no method my punishment didn’t come as. Sometimes he flogged me with belt, sometimes he slapped every part of my face till it got swollen. There were times like that.”

After enduring seven years of continuous physical abuse and emotional strain, Thompson ultimately decided to walk away from the relationship, leading to their final separation.
