Mr and Mrs Yunge: Isaya treats Charlene to a ride inside his car as they mark day 1 of being married couple
Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge has taken his newlywed wife Charlene Ruto for a casual drive in his luxury car as the couple settled into their first day of married life following their lavish wedding in Mwanza.
A video shared on Facebook by Isaya’s friend, MC Gara B, captured the newlyweds enjoying the ride, with the groom behind the wheel and Charlene seated comfortably beside him.
MC Gara B, who occupied the back seat, filmed the couple as they travelled together, giving social media users a glimpse into their moments away from the elaborate wedding celebrations that had brought together prominent guests from Kenya and Tanzania.
Isaya appeared relaxed and confident behind the steering wheel, handling the vehicle as he drove, while Charlene looked equally at ease in the passenger seat.
The former First Daughter appeared happy as she chatted with her husband during the journey, with the two seemingly enjoying each other’s company as they adjusted to their new status as a married couple.
The footage captured a more casual side of the newlyweds, who had spent the previous day at the centre of a high-profile wedding attended by senior government officials, politicians, businesspeople, relatives and friends.
Rather than a formal wedding procession or an elaborate getaway, the drive offered a glimpse of the everyday experiences that come with marriage, with Isaya taking the wheel and Charlene enjoying the passenger-seat moments beside him.
MC Gara B appeared to enjoy the experience from the back seat, recording the couple as they shared the ride. His decision to document the moment also gave followers a rare look at the newlyweds spending time together after the wedding.
The video emerged on Saturday, November 7, a day after Charlene and Isaya exchanged vows at the luxurious Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The couple tied the knot on Friday, November 6, in a lavish white wedding held at Malaika Beach Resort, a luxury lakeside property overlooking Lake Victoria in Mwanza, Isaya’s home region.
The ceremony brought together a high-profile guest list comprising members of the Ruto and Yunge families, senior Kenyan government officials, politicians, business figures, clergy and entertainment personalities.
President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto were among the central figures at the ceremony, with the Head of State and his wife escorting their daughter down the aisle before she joined Isaya at the altar.
Charlene wore an elegant white wedding gown featuring intricate floral details, long sleeves and a sweeping veil, while Isaya appeared in formal wedding attire as the couple exchanged vows.
The outdoor ceremony featured an elaborate arrangement with white floral decorations, a grand floral arch and a mirrored walkway leading to the altar. A minister from Africa Inland Church Tanzania presided over the exchange of vows.
Among the Kenyan leaders who attended were National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
Other notable guests included Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo and Ida Odinga.
The celebrations also featured cultural performances reflecting the couple’s Kenyan and Tanzanian backgrounds, with traditional dancers entertaining guests through energetic routines accompanied by drums and live music.
Tanzanian gospel group Neema Gospel Choir was among the performers invited to entertain the guests. The group delivered some of its popular gospel songs, including Lango Limefunguliwa, Urejesho and Mungu Anawapendelea, with some VIPs rising from their seats to dance along.
The Mwanza wedding followed the couple’s traditional Kalenjin engagement ceremony, known as Koito, held on August 8, 2026, at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
Charlene also held a bridal shower in Nairobi on November 3, attended by close friends and family members, before her mother hosted a Mother’s Blessing gathering on November 4 to pray for her ahead of the marriage.
