Malema Blames ANC For Boosting DA’s Electoral Support
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has reportedly blamed the African National Congress (ANC) for the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) growing electoral support, arguing that the ruling party helped strengthen its political rival through their cooperation in government.
According to Malema, the ANC contributed to the DA’s increased credibility by entering into political partnerships with the party and allowing it to occupy influential government positions.
He allegedly argued that the arrangement sent a confusing message to voters, who may have questioned why they should not vote directly for the DA if the ANC considered it suitable enough to govern alongside it.
Malema reportedly suggested that the ANC’s decision to share power with the DA helped normalise the opposition party in the eyes of some voters, potentially contributing to its improved electoral performance.
Meanwhile, the EFF leader has called on progressive political organisations, including the EFF, MK Party, South African Communist Party (SACP) and ANC, to put aside their differences and consider forming a united political coalition.
He also reportedly argued that if the MK Party makes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s removal a condition for supporting such an arrangement, the ANC should consider replacing him to secure the proposed political agreement.
