Fans Divided Over Davido, VDM Beef As They Trade Shots Online

The once-friendly relationship between Nigerian singer Davido and social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) appears to have taken a different turn, with fans divided over their growing beef and recent online exchanges.

Fans have expressed surprise at how the friendship between the two personalities went sour, recalling when VDM openly praised Davido and the duo were seen together at different occasions. One moment that stood out was a video call in which VDM’s mother was seen praying for the singer.

However, the relationship appears to have changed, with both personalities now throwing subtle and direct shots at each other online.

The tension became noticeable when fans asked VDM during a TikTok livestream why he was no longer associating with Davido as he used to. In response, the activist said he could no longer feel the singer’s vibes.

The situation became more intense after Davido publicly supported his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, in his re-election bid in Osun State. VDM, who was unhappy with the singer’s involvement in the state’s political affairs, criticised him for reportedly petitioning the United States President over the Osun crisis.

VDM accused Davido of supporting his uncle for selfish reasons, rather than showing genuine concern for the people of Osun State. He also warned the singer against getting involved in future political matters in Nigeria.

The criticism did not sit well with Davido’s fans, who questioned why VDM would attack someone they believed had done so much for him. In response, VDM insisted that he could not be bought, describing Nigerians as hypocrites.

According to him, if he had remained silent over Davido’s actions, people would have accused him of collecting money or other benefits from the singer. He said his criticism was meant to show that he could not be influenced by anyone.

The beef, however, appears to have taken a more entertaining but messy turn following Zlatan’s white wedding.

Davido was spotted at the wedding vibing to Zlatan’s latest song, in which the rapper appeared to throw a jab at VDM with the line, “I no be Vincent, I no fit masturbate.”

Davido also featured on the song, contributing a verse, making his public enjoyment of the track another talking point among fans.

When the video of Davido dancing to the song surfaced online, VDM quickly reacted by composing a song that mimicked the singer’s leaked video, in which Davido was captured on his knees begging a lady for sex.

VDM turned the incident into a song, mimicking Davido’s actions and adding another layer to their ongoing online exchange.
