THE November 2026 Local Government Elections have turned Mzansi politics upside down! As the final provisional results from the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) drop, small parties are dancing in the streets while big giants are crying in the corners.

The biggest celebrations are in the ActionSA camp. Herman Mashaba’s green army has become a terrifying force, wrecking old political strongholds across Gauteng. ActionSA didn’t come to play, giving rivals a massive klap in the townships and suburbs.

In the capital city of Tshwane, they put up a ferocious fight in areas like Atteridgeville and Soshanguve, positioning themselves as kingmakers who will decide who gets the mayoral chain.

To make things sweeter, Mashaba celebrated a miraculous victory in Joburg, proving that every single ballot paper carries immense power.

“Ward 127 is a powerful reminder that EVERY VOTE MATTERS! Our ActionSA Candidate, Lwanda Bini, has won the ward by a margin of JUST ONE VOTE! Never underestimate the power of your vote. ONE VOTE can make the difference between winning and losing an election. Every single vote counts!” Mashaba said. The firebrand leader immediately fired a stern warning to criminals and lawbreakers, promising to clean up the inner city without wasting any time. “There’s a new sheriff in town, and the message is LOUD AND CLEAR! Illegal immigrants in Hillbrow and Berea must start packing their bags and run now because the days of lawlessness, illegal occupation and turning a blind eye are OVER. ActionSA will Restore Law and Order!!” Mashaba warned.

Meanwhile, the newly launched Afrika Mayibuye Movement, led by Floyd Shivambu, has sent shockwaves straight through Limpopo.

Despite being the new kid on the block, Mayibuye made stunning inroads into rural councils, snatching a massive chunk of votes in Greater Giyani and Collins Chabane. Their rapid rise has proved that fed-up voters are hungry for fresh blood.

The absolute biggest loser of the night is the ANC. The ruling party suffered a historic disaster, with its national vote share crashing down to a pathetic 31.06%.

Furious residents completely rejected the liberation movement over dry taps, uncollected rubbish, and broken promises, handing the party its worst performance in its election history.

On the other side of the fence, the DA is smiling all the way to the bank, growing its national share to over 24% and tightening its iron grip on the Western Cape while making big gains in Joburg.

Adding more fire to the chaos, Jacob Zuma’s MK party flexed its muscles in its first-ever local election, storming into third place nationally and completely dominating KwaZulu-Natal.

With the ANC completely humbled and smaller parties aggressively locking down key regions, South Africa has officially entered a messy era of hung councils and wild coalition horse-trading!
