Charlene Ruto Reveals Emotional 16-Year Prayer Journey During Wedding Vows to Isaya Yunge

Charlene Ruto touched the hearts of guests during her white wedding to Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge after sharing the remarkable story behind her prayers for a future husband.

Speaking during their wedding ceremony at Malaika Beach Hotel in Mwanza, Tanzania, on Friday, November 6, 2026, Charlene disclosed that she began praying for her future husband while in Form One, approximately 16 years ago.

She explained that when she started making the prayers, she had no idea who she would eventually marry, including his name, appearance or background. However, she remained confident that she would one day settle down with someone special.

Charlene revealed that her decision was inspired by Matthew 17:20, a biblical verse that teaches about the power of faith, even when it is as small as a mustard seed. She said the scripture encouraged her to trust God and remain hopeful about her future marriage.

The President’s daughter also recalled receiving several prophecies concerning her love life. Among the memorable moments was a prayer by renowned preacher Pastor Benny Hinn during a Nairobi crusade in late 2024, when he prayed for Isaya to enter her life soon.

She further disclosed that she once wrote down 15 qualities she desired in a husband during a moment of uncertainty. After completing the list, she prayed over it, believing that she had outlined everything she wanted in a life partner.

However, while addressing Isaya during their vows, Charlene expressed gratitude, saying he had exceeded her expectations and possessed qualities she had not even considered when preparing the list.

The emotional revelations added a spiritual dimension to the wedding, which was attended by President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, family members and distinguished guests from both countries.

The couple had earlier celebrated their traditional Kalenjin Koito ceremony on August 8 at Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
