“All Provinces Must Take This Position And Keep DA Out” Dudu Zuma-Sambudla Hit Out

Dudu Zuma-Sambudla has called on provinces across South Africa to adopt a united position against entering coalition agreements with the Democratic Alliance (DA), urging progressive political parties to work towards greater unity ahead of the 2029 general elections.

Zuma-Sambudla made the call amid ongoing political realignments following the 2026 local government elections, which have placed coalition negotiations at the centre of South Africa’s political landscape.

In her remarks, she argued that provinces should resist bringing the DA into coalition arrangements and instead prioritise cooperation among parties she considers progressive.

“All provinces must take this position and keep DA out and then work towards progressive party unity for 2029 before we are led by a white president,” Dudu Zuma-Sambudla said.

Her statement reflects growing concerns among some political figures about the DA’s increasing political influence and the possibility of the party gaining greater control through coalition arrangements.

She also appeared to be advocating for a broader political alliance among progressive parties, suggesting that cooperation ahead of 2029 would be essential to strengthening their collective electoral prospects.
