Richard Gyamfi Warns NPP Members to Stop Sharing Secrets on Social Media and Focus on Work

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Dahtus Gyamfi, has sent a strong warning to his fellow party members about their habit of sharing everything on social media. In a Facebook post, he urged the NPP faithful to learn to keep some things to themselves. He noted that not every meeting, not every strategy, and not every move must end up on social media. According to him, when party members post everything online, they are not helping the party but rather giving away their positions to their opponents for free.

Gyamfi explained that when the NPP shares its strategies openly on social media, opponents sit back and plan against them. He said this puts the party at a disadvantage because the other side already knows what they are thinking and what they plan to do. In his view, the party is losing its element of surprise and giving the opposition an easy way to counter their moves. He described this as a serious problem that needs to stop if the NPP wants to be taken seriously.

He further stated that sharing everything on social media defeats their collective goal as a party. He reminded members that politics is not a competition for likes or followers on Facebook and Twitter. According to him, if the NPP really wants to win, members should work in silence, work together, and let the results speak for themselves. He said the noise is killing the party and that it is time to change the approach. Instead of focusing on who gets the most comments or shares, members should focus on what will actually help the party succeed.

Gyamfi’s message is a wake-up call for party supporters who often take to social media to announce plans, argue with opponents, and reveal internal discussions. He is essentially saying that real work happens behind the scenes, not on social media. By keeping quiet and working together, the party can build strength and surprise its opponents when it matters most. He ended his post with the words “Don’t shoot the messenger. Selah!” which means people should take time to reflect on his message rather than attack him for speaking the truth.

For the ordinary Ghanaian watching from the sidelines, this is a lesson in the importance of keeping some things private. In politics, as in life, not everything needs to be shared with the whole world. Sometimes, the smartest move is to work quietly and let your actions speak for you. Whether one agrees with Gyamfi or not, his advice is clear: the NPP needs to stop talking too much on social media and start working in silence if it wants to win.
