NEWS IN: Matiangi Joins Kenyans In Mourning After Death Of Gachagua’s Sister, Details

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has joined Kenyans in mourning the death of Rigathi Gachagua’s eldest sister, Eunice Nyangari Gachagua, who passed away aged 77.

Matiang’i, who is also the Jubilee Party leader, conveyed his sympathies to the former Deputy President in a message released on Friday, November 6.

He addressed Gachagua as a brother and colleague, acknowledging the pain the family was experiencing following the loss of an important family member.

The former Interior CS described the deceased as a mother figure who played a significant role in supporting and guiding the Gachagua family.

“On behalf of the entire Jubilee Party fraternity and on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences to the Gachagua family, particularly Eunice’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” Matiang’i said.

He further prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family as they come to terms with the loss.

Matiang’i’s message came hours after Gachagua announced his sister’s death in a statement addressed to the extended Reriani family.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader disclosed that Eunice died in Naro Moru, describing her as a warm and cheerful person whose presence had brought happiness to those around her.

According to Gachagua, his sister had taken up the responsibility of guiding the family following the death of their mother seven years ago.

He particularly acknowledged Eunice’s children, Waithera and Murimi, alongside her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gachagua also reflected on the 77 years his sister spent on earth, saying the family would greatly miss her wisdom, guidance and the memorable moments they shared.

Eunice was the firstborn daughter of the late Mzee Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and Martha Kirigo Gachagua.

Her death has attracted messages of sympathy from political leaders, with Matiang’i joining those who have reached out to the family following the announcement.
