Doris Ogala Gets ₦30m Bail With Strict Conditions in Pastor Okafor’s Cyberstalking Allegations

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Friday, November 6, 2026, Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has granted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala bail in the sum of ₦30 million over allegations of cyberstalking and cyberbullying popular Lagos-based pastor, Chris Okafor.

The judge, who delivered the ruling on Friday, November 6, 2026, directed Ogala to provide two sureties, each standing for the same amount.

Justice Aluko explained that the bail conditions were intended to protect the actress’s constitutional right to freedom while ensuring the safety of prosecution witnesses and preventing any interference with the ongoing trial.

Under the conditions, one surety must own a landed property in Lagos with verifiable registration documents or be a recognised national officer of her political party or a reputable individual, including a respected religious leader.

The second must be a senior civil servant not below Grade Level 14 in either the federal or Lagos State government.

Both sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, demonstrate financial capacity and submit three years of tax clearance certificates alongside recent passport photographs.

The court also ordered Ogala to surrender her international passport, refrain from electronic publications capable of threatening, harassing or ridiculing prosecution witnesses, and maintain good behaviour throughout the trial.

Justice Aluko recalled that the actress disrupted court proceedings on October 28, forcing the adjournment of ten cases.

However, he acknowledged that she had apologised and maintained that she remained innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecution had opposed her bail application, alleging that she previously missed court appearances on April 23 and June 9, claiming ill health, despite reportedly participating in political campaigns and rallies during the period.

However, her lawyer argued that the offences were bailable and assured the court that she would not evade trial or interfere with witnesses.

Ogala is facing a four-count charge under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024.

The prosecution accused her of publishing Pastor Okafor’s intimate photographs without consent, spreading damaging allegations, harassing him electronically and allegedly attempting to extort money or a house from him through threats of further publications.

The court directed that she be released once all bail conditions are fulfilled.
