In the viral video, the Students of Dream Yard Preparatory School reportedly walked out of class and gathered in large numbers to honour Javits.

Their protest followed the shooting and killing of the Ghanaian teenager by three suspected teenagers who have since been declared wanted.

In a video shared by ABC7NY on Facebook on November 2, 2026, the students were spotted wearing and carrying T-shirts bearing Javits’ picture, with others holding placards calling for an end to gun violence and bullying.

One of the students who spoke to ABC7NY disclosed that Javits Frimpong’s death has left him deeply distressed.

The student said, “I’ve cried so much that I can’t cry no more”.

The 15-year-old Ghanaian boy, Javits Frimpong, was shot dead in the Bronx, New York, on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

According to reports, Javits Frimpong was shot near the intersection of Crotona Place and East 171st Street shortly before 9:30 a.m. while reportedly on his way to school.

The information gathered suggests the teenager was shot in the abdomen and was found in and out of consciousness.

Police are searching for three male suspects, but no arrests have been made. The motive remains unclear.

Reports suggest the suspects, who were last seen wearing black clothing, were fleeing down Fulton Avenue, with two of them wearing surgical masks.

Meanwhile, Surveillance video shows a person fleeing the scene who matched a description released by police.

The video showed someone wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and a mask.

According to authorities, the victim ran about a block after being shot before collapsing. He later died at a hospital.

Meanwhile, Nana Aba Anamoah, a Ghanaian media personality, has criticised individuals making insensitive comments about the death of 15-year-old Ghanaian boy Javits Frimpong.

The Ghanaian media personality urged the public to show compassion towards the grieving family.

Nana Aba expressed disappointment over the manner in which some individuals are using the incident to make hurtful remarks and judge the decisions of the family.

According to Nana Aba, people must learn to remain silent when they have nothing meaningful or sensible to contribute to sensitive conversations.

She argues that people have become sadists who enjoy seeing others suffer.
