She celebrated the court for its strict adherence to the administration of justice and compliance with the rule of law.

“Obed Mwale is free! We thank the Kapenguria Law Courts for standing firm for justice and the rule of law, and treating the flimsy charges brought against Obed with the contempt they deserved,” Njoroge wrote.

Mwale thanked the Legal team deployed by Linda Mwananchi to represent him in court and secure his release. He condemned his arrest, stating that any country that seeks to silence the youth’s voices destroys its future.

“Thank you very much. We have been set free, unconditionally. A country that silences, imprisons and destroys its own promising voices risks destroying its own future,” he wrote.

Earlier, Communications Strategist Abbie Zuena said the court did not find a constitutional threshold for the investigators to continue holding the Matisia Ward MCA in custody.

Elsewhere, Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka demanded the unconditional release of Advocate of the High Court, Abshir Abdi, following his alleged abduction.

Kalonzo termed the events captured on CCTV footage as disturbing and unacceptable. Abdi’s disappearance was made public by former Law Society of Kenya President Eric Theuru, who shared the surveillance footage from the lawyer’s home.

“Reports from people who witnessed the incident indicate he was pursued by 2 motor vehicles, a Prado TX and a double cab. The occupants of those vehicles had guns and two were in what seemed like police uniforms and bulletproof vests,” Theuri wrote.

He claimed that Abdi’s alleged abduction is linked to a case he’s involved in against some senior police officers & he’s been subjected to various intimidation tactics before this incident.
