Mt Kenya MP Ranked 4th in the Parliamentary Race By the Latest Opinion Poll

Ndaragwa MP George Gachagua has been ranked fourth in the Constituency’s parliamentary race according to the latest opinion poll.

According to the Swiss Poll International survey results released on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, Leshau Pondo MCA Kamau Gathungu leads the Ndaragwa parliamentary race with 1,017 votes (25 percent), followed by Ikua Mbote with 841 votes (20.7 percent). Gitau Njamba is third with 708 votes (17.4 percent).

George Gachagua is fourth with 490 votes (12.1 percent). Kamau Njambi has 466 votes (11.5 percent), Jakes Macharia Chege 214 (5.3 percent), CPA Karoki 196 (4.8 percent) and Mwangi Kagwe 78 (1.9 percent). Another 54 respondents (1.3 percent) are undecided.

The poll had a sample size of 4,064, a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent and a 95 percent confidence level.

George Gachagua was elected in the 2022 General Election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. He received 30,183 votes, beating the then incumbent Jeremiah Kioni, who got 7,227 votes on a Jubilee Party ticket.

He is allied with President William Ruto and remains a UDA member. He signed the motion to impeach former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in 2024 and has since faced accusations of betrayal in the constituency.

Gathungu supported George Gachagua in the UDA primaries in 2022. He withdrew his support after the impeachment, saying it made backing him untenable.

The MCA is now allied with Rigathi Gachagua and is eyeing the seat on a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket in the 2027 General Election.
