Massive Reactions Online as NPP Supporter Tells JoyNews Reporter, “We’re Just Here to Suonono”

According to a report by JoyNews on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, an NPP supporter has sparked massive reactions on social media after a brief interview during the ongoing “Yɛ Gye Yɛn Sika” demonstration.

In a video shared by JoyNews, a reporter asked the woman why she was at the protest. She replied that she was not doing anything and that they were just there to “suonono.” Many social media users could not understand the word, and the response quickly went viral.

The demonstrators wore red and carried placards. One placard read, “Ablakwa must go. The questions must be answered! Protect the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s credibility.”

The comment section was filled with humour and confusion. Many users asked what language the woman was speaking. One user, Gyamfi Samed Jnr, asked the same question and received eight likes. Another user, Brandsford Tetteh, joked that he searched for a language translator and it took him to Mars. He added that he thought she was an alien.

Some users mentioned the NPP’s communications team. Zion Herb joked that National Protest Party members now speak in tongues. Another user, Afeavo Patrick Kwesi, said she could be the incoming National Deputy Communications Officer of the NPP and praised her response as brilliant.

Several users also asked that the video be hidden from Kevin Taylor, a well-known political commentator. Akoto Serwaa made this request, and her comment received 217 reactions. Others joked that Kevin Taylor would have plenty to say if he saw the video.

Some users also noted that the interviewer seemed confused. Equce Manual said the interviewer was even more confused than the people reading the comments.

Another user, Sadiq Romeo, wrote that when you grow old, you will know why God created Earth and decided to stay in heaven. His comment received 245 reactions.

Meanwhile, the demonstration continues, and the video remains one of the most talked-about moments of the day.
