KPLC Warning: Prepare for 8-Hours Power Blackout Tomorrow If You Live in the Following Parts

Kenya Power has issued a public notice confirming planned electricity supply interruptions for routine network maintenance in select parts of Kiambu and Kwale counties on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. According to the utility provider, the temporary outages are necessary to enable technical teams to carry out essential maintenance and upgrade the power distribution grid across the affected regions.

In Kiambu County, parts of Mwihoko will experience an interruption running from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. Specific places earmarked for the blackout include St. Lucy Kiriri University, Mwithiritia SDA, Discovery, Muigai, and Mutuya. Customers situated within the vicinity of these areas and connected to the same supply line are also expected to experience the outage during those hours.

Meanwhile in Kwale County along the Coast region, power will be turned off between 9.00 AM and 4.00 PM around the Petrocity Bonje area. Key establishments that will be affected by the shut-off include Shell Bonje, Afro Afya, Premium Fuels, Kilimanjaro Biscuits, and Petrocity. Neighboring residents and commercial properties tied to the affected circuit will similarly be without power for the duration of the maintenance exercise.

The utility firm highlighted the protocol for customers whose postpaid meters are stolen. Affected individuals are required to report the matter to a nearby police station to obtain an official abstract before visiting a Kenya Power customer care center. When requesting a replacement, customers must present the police abstract together with their National Identification card, registered telephone contact, account number, and proof of property occupancy.

Kenya Power will then flag the account, survey the site, and guide the customer on resolving outstanding bills and paying the necessary replacement fees.
