‘If you need anything, please ask’ – French Ambassador assures Black Challenge
French Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Diarra Dimé-Labille, has met the Ghana Amputee National Team, the Black Challenge, at the Mendiata Hotel in Accra ahead of their participation in the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Ambassador to encourage the team and reaffirm France’s commitment to supporting inclusion and the welfare of persons with disabilities.
Addressing the players, Diarra Dimé-Labille praised their dedication and achievements, while assuring them of her continued support.
“We are committed to inclusion. We support anything that makes people with disabilities feel part of society. It is important that any problems you are facing ahead of your trip to Mexico are resolved.
“The only thing you have to think about is how we are going to win this cup. I want to congratulate you all for what you do every day. I am very humbled by your work, and I think Ghana can be very proud of your efforts,” she said.
She also encouraged President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Samson Deen, to approach the French Embassy whenever the team required assistance.
“If you need anything, please ask,” she added.
The Black Challenge have been drawn in Group D alongside Angola, Colombia and Iraq for the tournament, which will take place in Mexico from November 13 to 22.
Ghana will be aiming to build on their success in continental competitions and secure their first Amputee Football World Cup title.
