If NPP Was Still In Power, Ghana Would Be Better Than Today—Techiman South MP At Yɛ Gye Yɛ Sika Demo

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is on the streets today, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with its Yɛ Gye Yɛ Sika demonstration.

The protest started at 6:00 a.m. at Villaggio, near Tetteh Quarshie Interchange opposite Accra Mall. Supporters marched to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then to Jubilee House.

The demo is to demand accountability from Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over the evacuation of 1,964 Ghanaians from South Africa and the issuance of diplomatic and service passports.

The NPP is accusing the government of hiding the cost of the evacuation flights, refusing to show invoices and passenger lists, and giving diplomatic passports to people who do not deserve it. The party wants Ablakwa sacked and investigated.

Speaking at the demo, the MP for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, said the NDC government has failed Ghanaians.

He said Ghana would have made more progress if the NPP had remained in power for these two years.

According to him, under the NPP, public money was managed better and Ghana was moving forward. He said the current hardship, corruption claims and lack of transparency show that the country is going backwards.

He urged Ghanaians to join the protest to demand their money and accountability.
