If Life Abroad Is Hard, Come Home — Medikal Tells Ghanaians After 15-Year-Old Javits Shot Dead
Ghanaian rapper Medikal has called on Ghanaians living abroad to consider returning home.
This comes after the tragic death of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, who was shot dead in the Bronx, New York.
Javits was a Ghanaian teenager with big dreams of becoming a doctor. On Thursday, October 29, he was walking to school in the Claremont area when he was shot in the stomach. He died soon after.
His death has left many Ghanaians in shock both at home and abroad.
Reacting to the news on X on November 2, Medikal wrote:
“To all my brothers and sisters abroad, if ebi long for outside, come home like my brother Tee Flow just did. We are starting the #Brafie program now.”
The #Brafie program is Medikal’s new initiative to encourage Ghanaians who are struggling abroad to return to Ghana and build their lives here.
He believes that even though life in Ghana is hard, it is better than suffering and living in danger far away from home.
Many people have supported his message, saying that abroad is not always as rosy as it looks on social media.
