Expect an 8-Hour-Long Power Blackout on Wensday, November 4 If You Live in These Areas – KPLC

Kenya Power has announced that parts of Kiambu and Kwale counties will experience scheduled electricity interruptions on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The power provider explained that the planned blackouts are required to allow service crews to perform essential repairs and upgrades on the local distribution lines.

For residents in Kiambu County, the shut-off is scheduled between 9.00 AM and 5.00 PM in areas around Mwihoko. Landmarks such as St. Lucy Kiriri University, Mwithiritia SDA, Discovery, Muigai, and Mutuya are among those listed to lose power, alongside surrounding homes and businesses sharing the same supply line.

Down at the Coast in Kwale County, the outage will affect the Petrocity Bonje region from 9.00 AM until 4.00 PM. Several commercial sites, including Shell Bonje, Afro Afya, Premium Fuels, Kilimanjaro Biscuits, and Petrocity, will have their electricity supply temporarily halted while engineers carry out work on the network.

The company shared instructions for property owners dealing with stolen postpaid meters. Victims of meter theft must first file a report at a local police station to receive an official abstract. After securing that document, customers should visit a Kenya Power service center with their national ID card, account details, registered telephone number, and evidence of premises occupancy to request a replacement unit once any pending bills and replacement costs are settled.
