Cedi Falls Drastically Against the US Dollar as BoG Releases New Rates for Tuesday, November 3, 2026

The Ghanaian cedi has recorded a worrying exchange rate against the major international currencies, with the US dollar trading at GH₵11.6658 on the selling side, according to the latest exchange rates released by the Bank of Ghana.

The figures, published on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, show the latest average interbank exchange rates used by commercial banks for transactions. The rates are based on the closing figures recorded on Monday, November 2, 2026.

According to the Bank of Ghana’s daily exchange rate update, the US dollar is being bought at GH₵11.6542 and sold at GH₵11.6658. This means that individuals and businesses purchasing dollars through commercial banks may have to pay approximately GH₵11.67 for every US dollar, depending on the bank’s applicable rates and charges.

The British pound sterling has also recorded a relatively high exchange rate against the Ghanaian cedi. The Bank of Ghana’s figures indicate that the pound is being bought at GH₵15.6364 and sold at GH₵15.6520.

Meanwhile, the euro is being bought at GH₵13.0532 and sold at GH₵13.0641.

The latest figures highlight the continued importance of foreign exchange rates to Ghana’s economy, particularly for businesses and individuals who depend on imported goods, international transactions and foreign currency payments.

A weaker cedi can increase the cost of importing goods and services, potentially putting additional pressure on businesses and consumers. It can also affect the prices of essential commodities and other products that depend on foreign exchange.

The performance of the cedi against major international currencies therefore remains an important concern for economic observers, traders and ordinary Ghanaians.

Many will be watching closely to see how the local currency performs in the coming days as the Bank of Ghana continues to publish its daily exchange rate updates.
