TwinsDntBeg Explain Why They Believe NPP Has Outperformed NDC Since 1992

Ghanaian photography duo TwinsDntBeg have stirred political debate after expressing the view that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made a greater contribution to Ghana’s development than the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since the country returned to constitutional rule in 1992.

The twin brothers, Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan, shared their assessment during an interview with Nana Romeo on UTV’s Atuu Show, where they discussed the policies and achievements of the two major political parties.

They pointed to initiatives introduced during former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration, including the School Feeding Programme, Metro Mass Transit and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which they said had positively affected ordinary Ghanaians.

The photographers also praised the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy introduced under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, describing it as a significant intervention whose long-term impact would become clearer in the coming years.

Comparing the records of the two parties, TwinsDntBeg argued that they had seen more policies under the NPP that directly benefited citizens. They criticised the NDC, claiming they could not identify a comparable initiative introduced by the party during its periods in government.

The NPP governed under Kufuor from 2001 to 2009 and Akufo-Addo from 2017 to 2025. The NDC has also held power under Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills and John Mahama, who returned to office in January 2025.

TwinsDntBeg, known for photographing prominent personalities, including former President Akufo-Addo, have also been associated with former Second Lady Samira Bawumia.

Their comments have added to the ongoing public discussion about the development records of Ghana’s two dominant political parties.
