In her reaction, the Gospel musician revealed that her son once went through a similar experience while schooling abroad. However, she believes the situation did not escalate because she took immediate action to address the matter.

Recounting the incident, Florence Obinim explained that her son once complained about a colleague who constantly bullied him, repeatedly slapping him even when he had done nothing wrong.

According to her, the bullying happened on several occasions, prompting her to advise her son to inform her whenever it happened again rather than retaliating.

She disclosed that when her son reported another incident, she made time out of her busy schedule to visit the school and confront the authorities over the matter.

The musician, affectionately known as The Lioness, revealed that she reported the issue to the school authorities and threatened to ensure that the bully faced legal consequences if the situation was not addressed.

She added that the teachers pleaded on behalf of the student before the school eventually dismissed him.

“My kid faced a similar situation abroad. The child came back from school and informed me that there is a colleague who is a bully. My child said that anytime he’s awarded, the colleague slaps him.”

“The second time it happened, he retaliated but reported the issue to me. I told him not to retaliate but to inform me the next time it happens. He informed me about the development the next time it happened and I visited the school. I told them I would ensure the child is arrested for bullying my child. The teachers pleaded on his behalf so they sacked the boy from the school.”

Florence Obinim further expressed concern about the prevalence of bullying in foreign schools, suggesting that the tragic incident involving Javits could have been avoided if the matter had been properly communicated to his parents and the necessary action taken.

“Bullying abroad is real and very worrying. I am sure the young boy who died may have not reported the issue as it is to his parents or they did not take the needed action.”
