“He Must Understand” Cracks in Opposition as Justin Muturi Send Warning To Gachagua on 2027

Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has reminded former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that no Kenyan president has ever won power through the support of one community alone.

Muturi said presidential leadership requires national support, consensus and the ability to bring together Kenyans from different ethnic and regional backgrounds.

He argued that winning the presidency goes beyond commanding support in one’s traditional political strongholds, noting that a successful presidential campaign must appeal to voters across the country.

The former Public Service Cabinet Secretary maintained that unity and national inclusion remain important considerations in the country’s political contests.

His remarks come amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election, with several leaders positioning themselves for different political alliances.

Muturi’s message appeared directed at Gachagua, who has been building his political support in the Mt Kenya region following his fallout with President William Ruto and subsequent formation of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).
