Drama Ends As Toluwanisings’ Widow Agrees To Bury Him At His House In Ibadan

The family of late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has reportedly resolved the disagreement surrounding his burial arrangements, following a meeting between his widow, Damilola Olayemi, and his father.

Lanre Alewilese, a close friend and colleague of the late musician, shared the update, revealing that both parties had reached a mutual understanding on where he would be laid to rest.

According to Alewilese, the singer will be buried at the house he built in Ibadan, Oyo State, after his widow and father agreed to put their differences aside.

He also called on Nigerians to stop dragging Damilola on social media, explaining that the widow was already dealing with the emotional pain of losing her husband.

Describing the controversy as a misunderstanding, he said:

“The disagreement between Toluwanisings’ father and his widow has been resolved. What happened was just a misunderstanding. The duo have agreed to bury Toluwanisings at his house.”

Alewilese went further to speak about Damilola’s character, insisting that she was a good and accommodating wife. He added that the late singer’s band members could equally testify to how supportive she had been.

Appealing to the public to show her compassion, he said:

“Please for God’s sake, let peace reign. Damilola is very young for what she’s currently going through. I’m very close to the deceased; his wife is accommodating. All his band members can attest to this.”

The burial controversy had previously sparked heated discussions online after the singer’s paternal family reportedly accused his widow of refusing to have him buried at his Ibadan residence.

His father was said to have insisted that if Damilola disagreed with the arrangement, the family would rather take his remains to their hometown and bury him beside his late mother.

A representative of the family also reportedly threatened that they would exhume the singer’s remains if he was buried in a public cemetery against their wishes.

However, with both sides now said to have reached an agreement, Alewilese has urged Nigerians to stop criticising the widow and allow her to grieve in peace.

“If you truly love the singer, let his wife have peace now that his burial place has been resolved,” he said.
