“Common Sense Raises Questions About Texas Ranch” – Moses Kuria
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has sparked fresh political debate after revisiting remarks made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua during an interview on Kiririmbi. Kuria questioned the circumstances surrounding reports that Gachagua had purchased a 300-acre ranch in Texas, United States, and challenged the explanations surrounding the alleged investment.
In his statement, Kuria suggested that Kenyans should pay closer attention to the details surrounding the reported property purchase. He claimed that the information about the 300-acre ranch was not entirely new, arguing that there had previously been discussions about the alleged acquisition.
Kuria further recalled his earlier prediction that President William Ruto and Gachagua would travel to the United States around the same period in September. He appeared to connect that observation to the questions he was raising about the reported Texas investment, although he did not provide evidence establishing any connection between the two matters.
The former Cabinet Secretary also questioned whether hosting a musical event featuring popular Mugithi musician Samidoh could reasonably explain the financial capacity required to acquire such a large property in the United States.
Using a sarcastic tone, Kuria remarked that common sense suggested that hosting a Samidoh event alone could not finance the purchase of a 300-acre ranch in Texas. He also expressed frustration with the public debate surrounding the matter, concluding his message with the words, “Ewe Mungu nifunze kunyamaza” and “Wajinga ni sisi.”
His remarks have added another dimension to the ongoing political conversations surrounding Gachagua, particularly regarding his financial affairs and public statements.
However, the questions raised by Kuria remain allegations and political commentary. Establishing the actual circumstances of the reported property acquisition would require verifiable information about its ownership, purchase price and source of funding.
The discussion is likely to attract attention among Kenyans following the relationship between the two political figures and the wider political developments ahead of the 2027 General Election.
