“Allow Baba to Rest in Peace”: Mosiria Sends Strong Message to ODM Leadership Over Raila’s Legacy
Geoffrey Mosiria has sent a strong message to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership, urging the party to protect the legacy of its late leader, Raila Odinga, and uphold the principles he stood for.
In a statement shared on social media, Mosiria called on ODM leaders to allow Raila, popularly known as Baba, to rest in peace by preserving the values that guided his political life.
Mosiria noted that Raila believed in good leadership, integrity, accountability and ethical governance. He further observed that the late former Prime Minister stood firmly against corruption and believed public leadership should be guided by strong principles and values.
However, Mosiria expressed concern over the admission of individuals whose reputations and integrity he considers questionable into ODM, arguing that such decisions were an insult to everything Raila stood for.
He appealed to the party leadership not to betray the former Prime Minister’s legacy for the sake of political expediency, insisting that the values he championed deserved to be protected and upheld.
In one of the most striking parts of his statement, Mosiria questioned whether Raila’s ideals would survive within the party following his death.
He maintained that if ODM was to continue existing, it needed to remain anchored in the principles and values that Raila championed throughout his political journey.
Mosiria concluded by reiterating that Raila deserved to rest in peace and that his legacy should live on through principled leadership.
His message places the spotlight on the responsibility of ODM leaders to preserve the ideals associated with their longtime leader as the party navigates its future without him.
