Aisha Yesufu Reacts As Video Of Kashim Shettima Sprinting Down Campaign Walkway Goes Viral

Political activist Aisha Yesufu has reacted humorously after a video showing Vice President Kashim Shettima sprinting along a campaign walkway at an All Progressives Congress rally in Cross River State went viral on social media.

The video surfaced days after footage of the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, running to catch a flight at an airport runway circulated online, prompting reactions from Nigerians.

Reacting to the development, Yesufu suggested that Obi had set a new challenge for Nigerian politicians with his unexpected run.

“Peter Obi don give Nigerian politicians assignment!” she wrote on X.

In another post, Yesufu reacted to a video shared by an X user, Imran Muhammad, who claimed that Shettima’s sprint was intended to demonstrate that President Bola Tinubu was physically fit.

“This is APC campaign rally in Cross River State. Kashim Shettima ran a 100m race to prove that Tinubu is fit,” the post read, accompanied by laughing emojis.

The X user also criticised the atmosphere at the rally, describing it as dull and lacking enthusiasm, while claiming that the crowd was scanty.

He further argued that Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, would attract a larger crowd than the APC rally.

The video and the accompanying commentary have added to the online political banter surrounding campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with supporters and critics of the major political parties using viral moments to mock or promote their preferred candidates.

However, the claims about the rally’s atmosphere and crowd size were the X user’s assessment and were not independently verified.
