Showdown Looms As Top Opposition Leader Alleges The Politician Secretly Working With Ruto, Details
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has appeared to suggest that Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro could be working with President William Ruto amid growing political differences within the ruling Kenya Kwanza camp.
Gachagua took aim at the president, accusing him of using development projects to create divisions among communities in the Mount Kenya region.
He claimed that Ruto had already begun distributing what he described as political wheelbarrows to different parts of the region, citing Murang’a and Laikipia as areas that had received theirs. However, he remarked that Kiambu was yet to receive one.
The former deputy president used the wheelbarrow comparison to question the government’s approach to regional politics, suggesting that development promises and political interests were being used to influence leaders and residents.
His remarks also drew attention to the political position of Nyoro, who represents Kiharu Constituency in Murang’a County and has previously been viewed as an influential figure in Mount Kenya politics.
Although Gachagua did not directly explain the nature of Nyoro’s alleged engagement with Ruto, his comments appeared to raise questions about the MP’s political relationship with the president.
The remarks come as political realignments continue to shape discussions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
