Kenyans React as Kalonzo Reveals the Only Person Who Can Convince Him to Join Ruto Ahead of 2027

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sent a strong message to President William Ruto’s allies after they renewed calls for him to abandon the opposition and work with the government ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo made it clear that he would not be forced into supporting Ruto, particularly through approaches from the President’s close allies, including Farouk Kibet.

“Kalonzo haweziambiwa na Farouk Kibet ati niingie kwa Ruto, wakitaka waende waongee na Riggy G,” Kalonzo stated.

His remarks come amid growing political pressure on the former Vice President to reconsider his political position as the race towards the 2027 elections gathers momentum.

On Saturday, November 1, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot and Farouk Kibet publicly urged Kalonzo to consider joining Ruto’s camp.

The leaders argued that the Wiper boss would be better respected if he worked with the current administration.

However, Kalonzo rejected the calls while speaking during a church service in Machakos on Sunday. He maintained that he could not join a government he accused of allowing many Kenyans to suffer.

He also challenged Ruto to meet him at the ballot, insisting that his political ambitions remain firmly focused on the 2027 presidential contest.

The latest developments come just days after Kalonzo faced heckling during the unveiling of Edwin Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Movement headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

Despite the incident, Kalonzo has continued to maintain his relationship with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The two leaders recently met at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri, where they discussed the country’s political future and opposition cooperation.

Gachagua has also publicly defended Kalonzo against attempts by government allies to persuade him to join Ruto.

With political alliances taking shape ahead of 2027, Kalonzo’s latest remarks could complicate the government’s efforts to win his support.

Will Ruto’s allies change their approach, or will Kalonzo remain firmly behind the opposition?
