Adu-Boahene case: Samson Lardy seeks answers from Israeli firm over disputed contract
Newsfile host Samson Lardy Anyenini has questioned whether the prosecution has established that the US$7 million cybersecurity procurement at the centre of the Adu-Boahene case was fictitious.
He said the allegation of a non-existent procurement was central to the Attorney-General’s initial public announcement of the case, but argued that the prosecution must support that claim with evidence from the trial.
In his “Samson’s Take” editorial, Anyenini said the defence had challenged the prosecution’s account of the contract, invoices and alleged non-delivery, pointing to documents concerning Israeli company ISC Holdings Limited.
“The defence challenges the prosecution’s account of the contract invoices and alleged non-delivery. They point to documents concerning ISC Holdings Limited and argue that the prosecution has not established that the procurement was fictitious,” he said.
Anyenini disclosed that Newsfile had made a formal information request to ISC Holdings Limited to establish whether there was a genuine contract, what the company was paid for and what it supplied.
“Was there a genuine contract? What was paid for? What was supplied?” he asked.
He maintained that the state’s claim of fictitious procurement must be established through evidence, rather than rely solely on the allegations made when the case was announced.
“The allegation of fictitious procurement must equally rest on evidence,” he said.
