2027: Adeleke, Oyetola Rally Behind Tinubu as Tompolo Deploys 30 Vehicles For Re-election Campaign

According to a report by The Nation on Saturday 31 October 2026; President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign has received a major boost in Osun State, following the inauguration of 10,000 door-to-door canvassers by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Ademola Adeleke, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and other political stakeholders.

The mobilisation exercise, held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo on Saturday, brought together political figures from different parties, signalling a cross-party effort to strengthen support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, who represented the APC’s 2026 Osun governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, described the initiative as a significant move towards securing the President’s second term.

He said the Southwest must demonstrate overwhelming support for Tinubu, expressing confidence that Osun could deliver 1.5 million votes for the President if party structures and supporters remained united.

Oyetola urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to take the assignment seriously, warning them against hypocrisy, political pretence and complacency.

He also called on Nigerians, irrespective of their political affiliations, to identify with Tinubu’s continuity agenda.

In a significant political development, Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, appealed to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Accord Party and his supporters to set aside past disagreements and unite behind the President’s re-election bid.

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door movement, Sunday Adekanbi, also charged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), declaring that the campaign was targeting two million votes for Tinubu from Osun.

Adding momentum to the exercise, High Chief Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, donated 30 vehicles to support the grassroots mobilisation campaign.

The vehicles, according to the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, were equipped with speakers, generators and amplifiers to facilitate campaign activities across the state.

Pondi, who represented Tompolo, said the donation was part of the group’s commitment to expanding support for Tinubu, adding that it believed in the President’s reform agenda.

He further challenged the campaign organisers to secure at least 90 per cent of the votes in Osun for the President in 2027.

Meanwhile, APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, highlighted the administration’s achievements, citing the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure development, increased allocations to states and economic reforms.

The Osun State Coordinator of the movement, Adeolu Olanrewaju, assured the national leadership that the campaign would intensify door-to-door engagements, reach communities across the state and persuade voters to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
