Wike:We Know That As Soon As He Does Not Get What He Wants,He Will Start Fighting d President—Emeana
Ray Emeana, Director-General of the Ahiajoku Centre in Imo State, has raised concerns about political disagreements within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly the controversy surrounding the Imo West senatorial ticket and its possible implications for relationships among influential political figures.
Emeana made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, October 30, 2026, where he discussed Governor Hope Uzodinma, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and the political interests surrounding the dispute.
During the discussion, he expressed concern that meadisagreements over political expectations could create tensions between influential politicians and President Bola Tinubu as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
Speaking about Wike’s political activities and the possibility of disagreements with the president, Emeana stated, “We know that as soon as he does not get what he wants, he will start fighting the president.”
The comment reflected Emeana’s concerns about the relationship between political interests, loyalty and expectations within the ruling party. He suggested that disputes involving prominent political figures could affect the wider political arrangement supporting Tinubu.
The controversy over the Imo West senatorial ticket reportedly followed a Federal High Court judgment recognising former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha as the winner of the APC senatorial primary for the district.
The judgment generated disagreements within the party, with the Imo State APC reportedly questioning the ruling and maintaining its position on Uzodinma’s preferred candidacy.
Emeana argued that the disagreement should be understood within the broader context of competing political interests and the struggle for influence ahead of the next general elections.
However, his suggestion that Wike could turn against Tinubu if his political expectations were not met represents Emeana’s personal assessment and was not independently established during the interview.
His comments have brought further attention to the internal political disagreements surrounding the Imo West ticket and the importance of managing competing interests within the APC as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
