The Group Chief Executive of Oando Plc, Wale Tinubu, has joined President Bola Tinubu in performing the lesser Hajj, also known as Umrah, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Wale Tinubu disclosed this in a post on X, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the Islamic pilgrimage alongside the President.

He described Makkah as a place where personal distinctions give way to humility, gratitude, brotherhood and a spirit of service.

“In Makkah, the distinctions we carry fall away, leaving humility, gratitude, brotherhood and a spirit of service,” he wrote.

The Oando chief executive said he was honoured to join President Tinubu in performing the lesser Hajj.

He also prayed for the acceptance of their acts of worship and called on Allah to grant Nigeria peace, progress and prosperity.

“May Allah accept our Ibadah and grant our nation peace, progress and prosperity,” he added.

Umrah, commonly referred to as the lesser Hajj, is an Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year, unlike the annual Hajj, which takes place during a specified period of the Islamic calendar.
